My Top 5 Local Shops to Buy Natural Dog Chews in Coventry, Leamington Spa & Warwick

The dog world is a bit of a minefield when you start looking into your dog’s nutrition.

Ensuring your pet dog enjoys the best nutrition and care is very important, but when getting advice from friends, family and our best friend google it can be pretty overwhelming.

One key aspect of your dog’s health that often goes over looked, is their chewing habits.

Natural dog chews have a quite a few benefits and why I recommend you provide these for your dog.

They are a great and enjoyable way for dogs to maintain their dental health, stay mentally stimulated, and enhance their overall well-being.

Dogs naturally like to chew, so lets provide them and outlet to chew on and not just a plastic toy (more on this below!) but something they can fully consume.

But where can you find these natural dog chews locally?

In this blog, we’ll explore the best local sources for natural dog chews, helping you make an informed decision that benefits both your dog.

Dental sticks and kibble don't keep your dogs teeth clean

When speaking with dog owners, when we are discussing keeping teeth clean, their go to to help their dogs with their dental care is feeding kibble and providing their dog with a dental stick.

Lets bust these myths…

Kibble doesn’t actually clean your dogs teeth, this is just a myth put out there by the dog food manufacturers.

Dental sticks also don’t provide the job they are sold to do.  They are a waste of money.

You are much better to fed your dog regularly with natural chews as they will help keep your dog’s teeth in good condition.

Some dog’s do just have teeth that are more prone to plaque.

One of my dogs is, so I also give her Plaque Off which I recommend.

Or brushing your dogs teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste.  If you use an Enzymatic toothpaste even if you didn’t clean them great the toothpaste will still combat the plaque for your dog.

My dog has plenty of toys though...

This is a common comment I get when I suggest to provide their dog some natural chews that they can fully consume.

Those toys you have, that you can visually see they have had a good chew on, are quite often plastic.

I personally don’t want my dog eating plastic, as it isn’t good for them.

I used to use a well known brand of plastic flavoured bones, but when Maisie was a puppy she managed to chew one of the ends completely off.

It was lucky I was sat next to her and saw it happen.

As it was just the right size for her to choke on.
