Would you love to look forward to your dog walks together again and not be pulled to the park?
Do you just wish your dog would come back every time you called him?
Are you embarrassed of her barking for the whole walk?
Maybe your dog is lovely at home, but the moment you step outside it feels like all their training disappears.
They’re pulling you from one smell to the next, you’re calling them and getting completely ignored, or you’re constantly trying to get their attention when everything else around them seems more interesting than you.
Perhaps your dog walks have become frustrating rather than enjoyable. You might be avoiding letting your dog off lead because you don’t trust them to come back when called, or wondering why the training that works perfectly at home seems to disappear outside.
Or maybe it’s the everyday things at home that are becoming difficult. Jumping up at visitors, barking for attention, struggling to settle, or simply feeling as though your dog never really switches off.
Being a dog owner isn’t always a smooth ride, but with a clear training plan that focuses on both your goals and your dog’s needs, things can change.
Through my 121 dog training in Coventry, I’ll help you understand why your dog is behaving the way they are and give you practical, kind and proven training methods that work in real life.
Together, we’ll build the skills you actually need for everyday life, whether that’s a dog who walks with you rather than pulling you along, comes back when called, can focus around distractions, settles more easily or simply feels easier and more enjoyable to live with.
This isn’t just about teaching your dog to sit, stay or come when called. It’s about helping you understand each other better, building a stronger relationship and making everyday life with your dog something you can enjoy again.
The Dream Dog Programme is my personalised 121 dog training programme, designed to help you build great relationship with your dog while developing everyday skills that make life together with your dog easier and more enjoyable.
Rather than focusing on one problem in isolation, we look at your dog as an individual, what’s happening in your everyday life and the skills they need to learn.
We can work on things such as:
Everything is tailored to your dog, your lifestyle and the things you actually want to be able to do together.
Does your dog bark or lunge at dogs or people, guard food or toys, struggle with fears or find it difficult to cope when left alone? These are behaviour concerns rather than general training problems, and I offer separate specialist support for these.
Real-life dog training rarely changes in a single session. That’s why I work with you and your dog over several weeks, giving you the time and support to turn what we practise together into skills that work in everyday life.
Your dog might understand something beautifully in your living room, but taking that same skill into the garden, onto your normal walk or around distractions is a completely different challenge. We build things gradually, at a pace that works for your dog.
It also means I can see how things are progressing, help you when something isn’t quite working and adapt your training as your dog develops new skills.
You’re not simply given a training plan and left to get on with it. I’m there to guide and support you throughout the programme, so we can make changes together as you and your dog progress.

Your Dream Dog Programme takes place over eight weeks, giving us time to understand what’s happening, put your training into practice and adapt things as you and your dog progress.
Before we begin, you’ll complete an in-depth History Form covering your dog, their background and your life together. This gives me a detailed picture before we meet and means we can make the best possible use of our time together from the very first session.
We then start with an initial consultation at your home, lasting approximately 90 minutes to two hours. We’ll talk through everything you’ve shared in more detail, look at what’s happening in everyday life and begin putting some initial training in place.
You’ll then have four further 121 dog training sessions, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. These sessions allow us to build on your dog’s progress, introduce new skills when they’re ready and adapt the training if something isn’t quite working as expected.
Throughout the eight weeks, I’ll also check in with you by email between sessions, so you’re supported as you put the training into practice at home.
All of your sessions are personalised to you, your dog and your training goals. There isn’t a generic plan that every dog follows. What we work on, how quickly we progress and where we focus our time will depend on what you and your dog actually need.
When you’re ready to start your training journey with me, book a call with me, so we can together we can get you started.
Not at all. Dogs of all ages can learn new behaviours with the right approach. Whether your dog is a young adult or a senior companion, kind, reward-based training can help improve behaviour, confidence and your relationship together.
The outside world is full of exciting sights, sounds and smells that compete for your dog’s attention. Rather than being stubborn, your dog may simply need help learning to focus around distractions. Together, we’ll build reliable engagement and recall step by step.
Dogs don’t automatically transfer behaviours from one environment to another. What they can do confidently at home often needs to be practised again in more distracting locations. My programmes help dogs gradually succeed in real-world environments.
Yes. Many owners come to me after trying classes, online advice or other forms of training. I’ll talk to you about what you have already tried, what worked, what did not work and where you are still struggling.
I will not simply ask you to repeat the same approach. I’ll look at your dog’s individual needs, behaviour and environment before creating a tailored plan to help you move forward. The aim is to give you a clearer understanding of your dog and practical support that feels achievable for both of you.
My 121 dog training is delivered through my eight-week Dream Dog Programme. We start with an in-depth initial session, followed by four further training sessions, giving us time to build skills gradually and work on them in real-life situations.
Every dog learns at their own pace, but working together over several weeks means we can adapt the training as your dog progresses, rather than trying to solve everything in a single session.
EXCELLENT Based on 90 reviews Posted on Google Pippa DavisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Carrie has transformed my dogs' lives (and mine!). Carrie first helped us when our Tibetan mastiff was a puppy and we had no idea how to train and engage with such a large dog. She was a phenomenal help with Hugo and now Hugo sees her as life long family! We wouldn't know what we'd have done without Carrie. Recently I've worked with Carrie with my dog Poppy, who became so frightened of walks outside, loud noises, cars being near by, I was so worried and didn't know what to do. Carrie met me and Poppy where we were and helped us build up Poppy's confidence step by step. She also noticed something in Poppy's gait that she suggested we check out, and I am so glad I did because there was underlying muscle pain that I wouldn't have been aware of at all otherwise! Her knowledge, care and expertise is outstanding and our dogs love her to bits. Would highly recommend Carrie to any dog owner with a new puppy or is stuck not knowing how to help their dog!Posted on Google Geraldine WynneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Carey was extremely helpful with my new puppy, she helped me through the difficult early days 💚Posted on Google Alan SchofieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Carrie came recommended for 121 training and started by giving us lots of info and tips which have become good routines for us and dog. Our specific needs were about walking calmly whilst cars passed and Carrie showed us how to keep our dog close on the pavement rather than rush ahead. She trained us on how to distract our dog successfully when cars approached and advised on how to build up her exposure to more traffic over time. Carrie was very professional, reassuring and helpful in her approach. We can thoroughly recommend her service.Posted on Google Katie BraithwaiteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Carrie is very knowledgeable about all aspects of training even down to getting our toddler involved and how to help our cocker spaniel loose some weight. We would definitely recommend Carrie to anyone looking for some support for their pooch. Thank you!Posted on Google martin priceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We cannot recommend Carrie at Carrie’s Canines highly enough. From the very beginning, Carrie took the time to understand both us and our dog’s individual needs, creating a personalised training plan that was tailored and adapted each week as we progressed. With Carrie’s guidance, we have seen a huge improvement in our dog’s hypersensitivity, anxiety, lead pulling, demand barking and reactivity. Her calm, knowledgeable and positive approach has given us the confidence and skills to continue reinforcing the training at home. What really sets Carrie apart is her ongoing support. She was always available whenever we needed advice, reassurance or guidance, and genuinely cared about helping us achieve the best outcome. Thanks to Carrie’s dedication and expertise, our dog is much happier, calmer and more enjoyable to walk, and we feel much more confident as owners. We would highly recommend Carrie’s Canines to anyone looking for a professional, supportive and highly effective dog trainer.Posted on Google Damien FaulknerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Engaged the help of Carrie to work on training my reactive 9yr old terrier, both at home and in public. Carrie was great with my dog from the off, offering loads of support, resources and training tips for us to work on. For example, a change of diet and some easy training tips for us when leaving the house saw a big increase in calmness for our dog. A nice win very early on, with something we’d struggled with for ages 😃 Carrie worked with my dog and I for about 3 months in total, not every week, sometimes a couple of weeks apart, but I can genuinely say I’ve seen massive progress, and the training was fun for my dog and I, and a long term benefit. Would recommend Carrie to anyone thinking of dog training, it was a brilliant thing for my dog to do and I feel like I got the results I was looking for in a calmer and less vocal dog 10/10 for Carrie 🤩Posted on Google brian parrittTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Artemis and Alejandro had 5 days training with Carrie what a improvement she has made for these 2 Dalmatians i’m glad we went with Carrie I would recommend her to anybodyPosted on Google RichardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had some great training sessions with Carrie with noticeable results. She took the time initially to really understand our cocker spaniel’s personality & our needs & then formulated a training plan to help. Carrie was at hand if we needed any further help between training sessions & always responded promptly with some encouraging advice. We feel Carrie has now given us all the training tools needed to embed those right behaviours. Many thanks from Jenny & RichardPosted on Google VicTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Carrie was extremely helpful and patient with training ideas for our VERY lively puppy.Working with him and adapting to our needs and requirements as we went along. It’s obviously a work in progress but we feel there has been a lot of progress and we are definitely getting there thanks to all her help and advice.
